The KHALDEATM Chart Wheel

Learn about the Natal Chart and its components in A Handbook for the Humanistic Astrologer. Read The Planets - Celestial Organs and Their Symbolic Functions.

View the Symbols for the Planets and other horoscope factors. Retrograde planets are indicated by red degrees.

View the Zodiacal Symbols

Read about the 36 Cyclic Aspects. View the Aspect Set and Orbs used in the chart. Aspect Colors is give below.

The TriView Astrological Coordinates

This useful and unique display provides you with the geocentric longitudes of the planets in degree, minute and arcsecond format. Retrograde planets are designated by the symbol Rx. Listed in the center column, the geocentric longitudes are of the highest accuracy. Positions of the mean North Lunar Node and the Part of Fortune are listed

Planetary Velocities (or daily motion in terms of geocentric longitude) are displayed as histograms in the left column. This unique display shows the planets' velocity in terms of percentage of their maximum speed of daily motion. For instance, if a planet has a maximum speed of 1°15' (as does Venus) and its current velocity is 0°37'30", the graphic will show a speed of +50%. Retrograde planets are given negative (-) values. Planets near their stations will have a velocity value of near 0%.

Similarly, the histograms in the right column display the planets' geocentric latitude - above(+) or below(-) - the terrestrial equator as percentage values.

The GestaltView of the Astrological Chart

This another useful and unique display which provides you with some familiar information and, perhaps, some unfamiliar listings. You can learn more about it all in A Handbook for the Humanistic Astrologer.

The topmost listing shows the Whole Planetary Pattern of the chart, the fundamental pattern of how the planets are distributed around the wheel. Below it you'll find the Lunation Phase Type, which is of fundamental importance, but usually overlooked by astrologers. Then come the familiar listing distribution by zodiacal element, mode, polarity, etc.

The bottom section shows some information which only Khaldea generated charts provide. You can learn about them in the book cited above. Additionally, you may read online at CyberWorld Khaldea articles on the Oriental Appearing Planet, Mercury Types, and Venus Types. More articles dealing with factors shown here will appear soon.

The House Cusps according to the Campanus System of House Division

Here the Cusps of the 12 Houses of the chart are displayed in degree, minute, arcsecond format according to the Campanus System of House Division.

The Campanus System divides the space surrounding birth or an event into twelve equal sections. In so doing, it plots 12 equal segments of space from the Prime Vertical to the ecliptic. The house cusps are points where the "Lune" lines projecting from the Prime Vertical - much like the segments of an orange - intersect the ecliptic of the zodiac. Campanus houses are unequal in terms of the number of zodiacal degrees they span because the ecliptic has an inclination of 23+ degrees above and below the terrestrial equator, and because births and events occur at a wide scope of geographical latitudes, which factor into where the Canpanus lune lines intersect the ecliptic. The Campanus is one of the few systems which one can visualize (and approximately determine the house sections) while standing on the open surface of the earth.

There are several systems of house division, and very few astrologers can explain the mechanics of the system they use, or even adequately explain why they use it! You can learn more about the systems of house division in A Handbook for the Humanistic Astrologer. Dane Rudhyar's The Astrological Houses provides an indepth look at the question of house division and explains why the Campanus System is superior.

The Aspect Grid
The Aspect Grid is a familiar display given a new look. It comprises two grid wedges: the right wedge shows the aspects, the left wedge displays orbs of the corresponding aspects.

In the Aspect Wedge, waxing aspects are shown in blue, waning aspects are displayed in red. Waxing aspects occur between the conjunction and the opposition (0° to 180°), waning aspects occur between the opposition and the next conjunction (180° to 360°). There is an important and fundamental difference between waxing and waning aspects - as much as between summer and winter -but very few astrologers distinguish between the two. Read THE EON: the 36 Cyclic Aspects for more on this subject and for a depiction of each of the 36 cyclic aspects.

In the Orb Wedge, applying aspects are designated by the minus sign (-), separating aspects by the plus sign (+). View the aspect set and default orbs used in the charts displayed in the online chart gallery.

The PhaseArc and Cyclic Midpoint Grid

This display is unique to Khaldea generated charts. Like the Aspect Grid, it is comprised of two wedges of cells. The right wedge displays the cyclic phase arcs (0° to 360°) for all 45 planetary pairs. The left wedge shows the cyclic midpoint for each planetary pair. Please note these are cyclic midpoints; read more about cyclic midpoints online in The Astrology of Relationship.
